Immediate need to hire a Sr. Level PM to support IT initiatives and the organization by managing highly complex projects from inception through implementation.
Major Responsibilities:
1. 1. Ensures IT projects support the achievement of business initiatives
- Leads/facilitates meetings with business units, ISD Business Relationship Manager (BRM), and end users to define application and technical requirements
- Drives definition of application and technical architectural structure to ensure it meets business requirements and performance goals
- Works with BRM to obtain stakeholder buy-in of application and technical designs
- Works with BRM to oversee requirements and development for production; validates design with stakeholders to ensure design satisfies requirements
2. Accountable for meeting project objectives and performance goals while ensuring operational readiness of the support environment.
- Drives creation and review of all application requirements i.e., functional, integration, security, performance, quality, and operational requirements.
- Coordinates creation, review, and integration of technical architect requirements for development, execution, and operations environments
- Makes final decisions for project regarding integration and alignment of technology embraced by Enterprise Architecture (EA) group. Scope of alignment may include: hardware, network products, system software and security
- Manages application and technical architecture analysis, design, and implementation to ensure products fulfills requirements
- Works with business units and systems support units to determine how application is supported in production; including backups, disaster recovery, system performance, and project management
- Reviews application and technical architecture deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and requirement traceability
3. Ensures effective execution of project by developing and managing project plan
- Develops and executes project plans, including scope definition, activities, estimates, and schedules
- Provides ultimate direction for large complex projects
- Manages projects from discovery phase through the plan, analyze, design, test, implementation, and transition phases
- Identify and communicate cross area or cross-release issues that impact other projects/areas
- Solves highly technical and complex problems on projects
- Monitors and controls risks
4. Manages the project team, which includes:
- Secures resources and ensures optimum utilization of those resources, meeting budgetary requirements
- Allocates work and ensures accountability, establishes a team environment, manages personnel changes, creates and executes the training plan.
- Provides leadership and direction to project team members toward achieving objectives and maintaining efficient service standards
- Establishes objectives for matrixed staff, reviews work products, and provides timely feedback to staff regarding performance
- Serves as consultant to project team, business units, stakeholders, and other ISD groups
- Coordinates issue resolution across multiple technical disciplines
- Creates Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and Statements of Work (SOW) to leverage vendor expertise.
5. Develops, modifies, and executes project management policies, standards, processes, and guidance.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Required:
Level I – IT Project Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Demonstrated experience managing a single complex project or multiple smaller full life-cycle IT projects or teams to include cost/resource/time estimation
- Demonstrated results-oriented leadership and facilitation skills
- Effective planning, organizational, and problem solving skills
- Ability to lead and develop others in a changing and challenging environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees, management, stakeholders, and vendors
- Ability to exercise initiative, produce desired results, and achieve goals and objectives
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Level II – Senior IT Project Manager – Additional qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects
- Ability to negotiate and influence with all levels of staff, /management, and vendors
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of IT and its impact on the organization
- Skill in exercising good judgment and making sound decisions
Level III – IT Program Manager – Additional qualifications
- Extensive project management experience overseeing multiple large, multi-million dollar, complex IT projects
- Skill directing and controlling activities of a broad functional area
- Expertise developing and managing relationships across ISD, business units, and the organization
- Ability to interact with and influence senior management and major business leaders
Desired:
- Advanced Degree in a related field
- Knowledge of financial institutions, operations
- ITIL Certification
- Knowledge of information technology policies, practices, and standards
- Knowledge of internal controls, information security, and privacy considerations
This position reports into the AVP, Project Management
